I am blessed that I am able to raise my 3 children with my wife Apryl on the same farm that our family has called home for the past 100 years. I farm with my parents and 2 brothers in Waldorf, Maryland, where we produce a variety of fruits and vegetables marketed through various channels to consumers. We also raise grain, hay, beef cattle, laying hens and turkeys.
My mission is to ensure that I have done enough to support my family and community through the family farm. I believe that family farms are essential to the fabric of our nation and must be protected, conserved, and made profitable. I am committed to safeguarding food security, knowing that it is integral to national security and that no one should go to bed hungry.
I represent District 3 (So. MD.) on the Maryland Farm Bureau board of directors and serve on the executive committee. I have also served on the Labor Committee for multiple years and am the current chair. I have represented Maryland Farm Bureau at the AFBF fly-in and am an active member of the GO Team. I am a strong advocate for a variety of farm bill issue areas, including labor, SNAP benefits and programs that aid those facing food insecurity, all areas I interact with daily on our farm.
